BOOKING & AFTERCARE

Booking & Aftercare

Last updated: July 2026. Please read before confirming your appointment. Any piece-specific written instructions given by your artist on the day take priority over this general policy.

Booking

Every tattoo starts with a WhatsApp consultation and confirmation. Please share your concept, references, placement, approximate size, preferred artist and available dates. We will confirm the required session time, price and available appointment. Material changes to the agreed concept, placement or size may require a new assessment.

Deposit, rescheduling & cancellation

A deposit is required to confirm an appointment and begin design work. It is deducted from the final tattoo fee. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, deposits are generally non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person. Please confirm the concept, placement and size before paying.

To reschedule, contact us on WhatsApp at least 72 hours before the appointment. Where available, the deposit may be moved once to a new slot within 60 days. Less than 72 hours’ notice, a late arrival that makes the session unworkable, or a no-show may be treated as a cancellation and the deposit may be forfeited. If the studio needs to reschedule for health, safety or unforeseen reasons, we will work with you on a new slot.

Age & identity

Trois Tattoo Studio tattoos clients aged 18 or above only and may request valid photo identification at consultation or on arrival. Under Hong Kong’s Tattooing of Young Persons Ordinance (Cap. 323), tattooing anyone under 18 is an offence except in specific medical circumstances; parental consent is not an exception we accept.

Health & safety

Please disclose anything that may affect tattooing or healing, including pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin conditions or infection, serious allergies, diabetes, immune-system conditions, bleeding or clotting conditions, blood-thinning medication or antibiotics, and recent surgery or medical procedures. This information is used only to decide whether it is appropriate to tattoo that day.

Tell us early if you are unwell, feverish, affected by alcohol or drugs, sunburnt, or have broken, inflamed, rash-affected or infected skin at the appointment area. We may reschedule for safety and the quality of the result. Never stop prescribed medication for a tattoo without advice from a qualified health professional. Tattooing is not medical care and we do not provide medical diagnosis.

Preparing for your appointment

Please arrive on time, eat and hydrate beforehand, and wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the tattoo area. Do not drink alcohol or use non-prescribed substances that affect judgement or clotting before the session.

Aftercare

Your artist will give instructions matched to the location, scale and protective dressing used; follow those instructions first. In general, wash your hands before touching the tattoo, clean it gently as advised and keep it dry. Avoid picking, soaking, swimming, saunas and prolonged sun exposure until the skin has healed. Do not apply unapproved ointments, fragranced products or skincare.

Seek medical care promptly for persistent or worsening pain, pronounced heat or swelling, discharge, fever, or any other concern. You may also tell us so we can understand the aftercare context.

Design, photography & publication

Every design is case-specific. Reference images guide the conversation; we do not provide unauthorised copies of other work. Photography and public use of finished-work images take place only after your explicit consent. Completing a tattoo service does not itself grant permission to publish an image.

Consent covers only the tattoo and non-identifying body-area images you approve. It does not include your name, contact details or recognisable face; identifiable portraits require separate, explicit consent. You may ask us on WhatsApp to stop future use. Removal of material already published depends on the relevant platform and production circumstances.
